Why UPR 2026 Is Different
Eswatini is already under sanctions. China, a UN Security Council member, removed tariffs for all African countries except Eswatini. This is punishment for ties with Taiwan that exist only to sustain the 1973 Decree \u2013 Absolute Monarchy. If China can impose sanctions for politics, the UN Human Rights Council can impose sanctions for\u00a0 human rights violation \u2013 June 2021 Civil Unrest crime against humanity.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE RESOLUTION:<\/strong>
Authenticity is required: civil society scheduled meetings for UPR\u00a0
Every submission must list human rights violations by Government and demand enforcement:
1. Killings & Political Repression: massacre of Emaswati during June 2021. Assassination of Human Rights Defender Thulani Maseko. House arrest of union leaders.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
2. 1973 Decree: Absolute monarchy, banning of political parties, May Day 2026, and national dialogue.
The government admitted to UPR 2021 that \u201cUN ideals are not implementable\u201d under this Decree.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Economic Repression: Chinese<\/strong>
Tariff Sanctions <\/strong>
Precedent that the world already uses consequences, thus the demand for UNHRC smart sanctions \u2014 travel bans + asset freezes on officials who command repression.

Accountability<\/strong>: Repeal 1973 Decree
As a precondition for trade normalization. UN Special Rapporteur on Self-Determination for Eswatini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
